Why This Is A Good Trade For Indiana

This is a good trade for the Indiana Pacers because they are able to get some good value for one of their more expensive players. The Pacers could benefit from dealing away Myles Turner and the addition of Harrison Barnes is a great value to score.

The Pacers saw a lofty benefit from their starting five while Turner nursed an injury and it proves that they could make Turner expendable. Domantas Sabonis has stepped up into a leadership role at the center position and is having another All-Star season at the center position. Bringing in Barnes to step in at power forward and allowing Sabonis to remain at center could be a beneficial move for the Pacers to make.

Barnes, this season, averaged 16.1 points per game, 6.6 total rebounds per game, and 3.5 assists per game for the Sacramento Kings while shooting 49.7 percent from the floor and 39.1 percent from beyond the arc. The Pacers would get some tremendous upside in Barnes and he could be a perfect fit to help the Pacers make a deep playoff run in the near future.

Adding another first-round pick and another second-round pick could end up being used in a trade or to add more young talent to their roster. Kevin Pritchard needs to make some moves this offseason and this deal for Turner would be an ideal place to start.
