Why This Is A Good Trade For Sacramento
This is a great trade for the Sacramento Kings because they are able to land a dominant rim protector for a relatively cheap asking price. Adding Myles Turner has major upside in improving the defensive play of the Kings and only having to spare some draft picks and Harrison Barnes is a wise move to make.
The Kings have one of the worst defenses in the NBA right now, and the likelihood of losing Richaun Holmes to free agency this offseason isn’t going to help their case for improvement. However, the addition of 2018-19 Block Champion Myles Turner would surely help the team improve their defense and give Buddy Hield and De’Aaron Fox a reliable interior target to utilize.
Turner, this season, averaged 12.6 points per game, 6.5 total rebounds per game, and 1.0 assist per game for the Pacers while shooting 47.7 percent from the floor and 33.5 percent from beyond the three point line. He could be a major impact player for the Sacramento Kings.
Giving up a first-round pick would be well worth it, because the Kings would be getting a much more talented piece in Turner than they would with that pick. Sacramento has to make some big moves to shake things up and acquiring Turner would be the kind of quality addition they need to make.
