Brooklyn was rocking for Game 1 against Boston on Saturday night’s NBA action and while they started off slow offensively, the Nets were able to pull away in the second-half and take a 1-0 lead in this series against the Celtics.

Without Jaylen Brown, it is going to be extremely hard for the Celtics to take over this series against Brooklyn and pull away in games, but in Game 1, they did a lot of things right and they held the lead at multiple points in this game.

Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker played well, scoring 22 and 15 points respectively, but Marcus Smart, Evan Fournier and Robert Williams also stepped up and contributed in different ways in Game 1. They may not have won the game, but if they can continue to be productive, then they may be able to make this series some-what interesting.

On the other side of things, Brooklyn struggled in the first-half, but they looked re-energized and thirsty for blood in the second-half against the Celtics. Brooklyn’s “Big 3” combined to score 82 of their total 104 points in the game, which is what we can expect the rest of the way.

But what else did Game 1 tell us that we need to know for the rest of this series? Let’s take a look at the three biggest takeaways from Game 1 between the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets.
