Golden State Warriors Receive: F Kristaps Porzingis, DAL 2022 2nd Round Pick, DAL 2025 2nd Round Pick
Dallas Mavericks Receive: F Andrew Wiggins, F Eric Paschall, GSW 2023 1st Round Pick (Top-10 Protected)
In order for this trade to work financially, Andrew Wiggins would have to be in the deal since both his contract and Kristaps Porzingis’ contract are basically the same in terms of value next year. Wiggins is set to make $31.5M next season and Porzingis is set to make $31.6M next season.
Wiggins joined the Golden State Warriors at the NBA trade deadline last year and this season, in his first full season with the Warriors, he has stepped up into a bigger role than first imagined since Klay Thomspon is out for his second-consecutive season.

Overall, Andrew Wiggins has quietly been one of the better wing players in the entire league not only because he is avering 18.0 points per game and shooting 47.1% from the floor, but because he is one of the better perimeter defenders on the wing in the league.
He is a very underrated defender on the wing and given that he is still growing as an all-around talent on the offensive-end of the court, he could fit in well with the Mavericks next to Luka Doncic. Eric Paschall is also another young talent that the Mavericks would likely want in-return for some frontcourt help.
For the Warriors, this offseason will be critical for them to make all the right moves if they want to get back to their championship glory, which is why striking a deal for yet another All-Star-caliber talent could be in their future plans.
Whether or not that is Kristaps Porzingis is yet to be seen, but the Warriors will look to remain aggressive in their pursuit for more talent. Now, let’s take a look at this trade from both team;s standpoint and truly see whether or not this trade makes sense for both the Warriors and the Mavericks.
