#8 Washington Wizards: 34-38

At this year’s All-Star break, the Washington Wizards were 14-20 and one of the worst teams in the entire league. Many around the country, including yours truly, were already talking about potential moves heading into next season that the Wizards could look to make to try and build off of what was looking like a lost season this year, but this team has been one of the hottest teams in the league as of late.

Since April, the Wizards have gone 17-9 and both Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal have been sensational. Westbrook recently passed Oscar Robertson for the Most Triple-Doubles in NBA History and Bradley Beal, when he has been on the court, has been scoring 30+ points with ease.

However, Bradley Beal missed 3 of the Wizards’ last 4 games with a hamstring injury before returning in their final game of the regular season against the Charlotte Hornets. In that game, Beal played 35 minutes and did not show any signs of limitations or struggle with his hamstring, so he should be 100% ready to go for their matchup with the Celtics.

While their roster is not that impressive, the Wizards have found a way to win games when it matters most. Outside of Westbrook and Beal, Raul Neto, Davis Bertans and Daniel Gafford seem like the three guys to keep an eye on. When they are hitting shots and making an impact, this team tends to pull away in games, so if they start off hot against the Celtics, they could be well on their way to earning the 7-seed in the East.
