Why the New York Knicks should be an attractive destination for stars

The New York Knicks clinched the 4-seed in the Eastern Conference, which means they are going to be back in the playoffs for the first time since 2013! They are one of the NBA’s top stories this season with a real chance to make some noise in the playoffs.

After years of suffering and losing, the Knicks have finally turned things around internally and as a result, they have seen their team be productive on the court. A lot of factors have gone into the Knicks being as good as they are this season, but it has started with how balanced their team is.

Not only do they have some really productive young talents in RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, but they also have a great balance of experienced, veteran talents in Taj Gibson, Derrick Rose and Alec Burks. Nerlens Noel, Elfrid Payton and Julius Randle are also some relatively young players who have all stepped up into big roles with this team, Randle in particular, which we will touch on in a bit.

New York is a team that nobody will want to play in the playoffs this year and while they may not have enough to make a run to the NBA Finals, the future is definitely bright for the Knicks as an organization. As a result, this offseason could be key for them and they could finally turn themselves into an attractive destination for star-level players.

With plenty of salary cap space to work with and plenty of favorable contracts to trade, the Knicks will have the resources necessary to make a splash. Let’s not forget, New York has multiple additional NBA Draft selections from the Kristaps Porzingis to work with, too. They will certainly be a team to watch in NBA rumors, to say the least.

With that being said, let’s take a look at three reasons why the Knicks should be an attractive destination for NBA stars not just this offseason, but for many years to come!
