The Knicks have the cap space to give Kyle Lowry any contract he wants
Perhaps one of the biggest factors that will help decide where Kyle Lowry goes in NBA free agency will be the financial implications, but this should not be a worry of the Knicks. They will have an estimated $56.2M in cap space when free agency begins and while they may use $20M of this to re-sign guys like Derrick Rose, Nerlens Noel and Reggie Bullock, they will still have plenty of money to offer Kyle Lowry.

Toronto will probably want Lowry to take a major pay cut, especially since they will be paying guys like O.G. Anunoby and Pascal Siakam more money next year, but if Lowry is unwilling to come down from his $30M price tag, he will look to get this kind of contract from another team.
The Knicks could offer him this kind of contract if they wanted to and quite honestly, they can offer him any contract he wants! Whether it is a one-year deal or a two-year deal with a player option, the Knicks have the money and the roster flexibility to sign Lowry to any contract he would want.
Assuming the contract value and length will be a big talking point for teams with Lowry in the offseason, this should be a pretty quick conversation for the Knicks and Lowry since they can be as flexible as they want on both sides!
The Knicks have everything Kyle Lowry should want if he does want to leave Toronto this offseason, which is why the New York Knicks should absolutely be a favorite to land the 6x All-Star point guard in the offseason.
