This year has been quite special for the New York Knicks, not only because Julius Randle has emerged as a superstar in this league, but because they have officially clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2013! It has been a long-time coming, but the woes in MSG are finally over as the Knicks are back!

Julius Randle was named a first-time All-Star this year and he seems like the favorite for Most Improved Player this year, R.J. Barrett has continued to improve in his second season and with other key talents in Derrick Rose, Alec Burks, Reggie Bullock and Nerlens Noel, the Knicks have cemented themselves as one of the better teams in the league because of how good they are defensively.
New York currently ranks 4th in Defensive Net Rating this season and they currently rank 1st in Opponent’s Points Per Game, only allowing about 105 PPG to their opponents this season. The Knicks currently find themselves as the 4-seed in the Eastern Conference, but they are not quite a championship contender yet.
This franchise has always been in the news during the offseason in terms of trying to land big name talents in NBA free agency, but they have never been able to do so over the years because of how bad they have been.
Now, with plenty of cap space and a winning record to show, the Knicks will be looking to sign plenty of high-level talents in the offseason, Kyle Lowry being one of them. The Knicks are winning games, they need a point guard and Lowry could be the final piece to their championship puzzle, so why shouldn’t he want to play here?
Assuming Lowry leaves Toronto, the Knicks should absolutely be high on his list of potential destinations because they are winning games, he would fit in perfectly defensively and he could immediately become this team’s leader.
