Look to add a high-level point guard

Ever since Derrick Rose suffered some major knee injuries and left the Bulls, this organization has been searching for its next true point guard and floor general. Guys like Jimmy Butler and Zach LaVine have taken over the ball-handling duties over the years, but still, this team has not had a reliable point guard that they can lean on for production.

This year, Tomas Satoransky and Coby White have “tag-teamed” the point guard duties for the Bulls and they have been solid, but this team is going to need a high-level guard in order to turn themselves into a true threat.

At the NBA trade deadline, prior to trading for Nikola Vucevic, the Bulls expressed interest in Lonzo Ball as a possible upgrade at the point guard position, however, they were not close to a deal with the Pelicans due to the asking price New Orleans had on their young guard.

Lonzo Ball is going to be a restricted free agent this offseason and with the Bulls having a solid amount of cap space and moveable contracts on their roster, they could definitely explore opportunities to sign Ball to an offer sheet come free agency.

Kyle Lowry, Victor Oladipo, Goran Dragic and Dennis Schroder will also all be free agent guards this offseason that the Bulls could look to add to their roster. Getting a true point guard should be high on the list of priorities for the Chicago Bulls and until they address this position, they will not be able to turn themselves into a real threat.
