The Lakers are really struggling offensively

Defensively, the Lakers have been one of the best teams all year long, but offensively, they have been a mess. Obviously without Anthony Davis and LeBron James, the Lakers offense is going to struggle, but even in the few games with both of them on the court, the Lakers have not really received production from other guys.

Andre Drummond has been alright since joining the Lakers, averaging 12.8 points and 10.2 rebounds, Dennis Schroder has been decent, averaging 15.8 points per game during the month of April without both AD and LeBron, but nothing really stands out about this team’s offensive production.

They have a bunch of guys who can get hot at the right time and go on a run by themselves, but overall, outside of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, they do not have anybody that they can lean on for production.

Out of everybody on this roster, I truly believe Kyle Kuzma is the difference-maker for them and he is going to have to step up and be this “third scoring option” that they so desperately need come playoff time. Schroder is going to do his thing, assuming he is on the court, and Drummond will likely be a double-double threat, but offensively, Kuzma is their third best scoring option and he needs to play like it for them to have a chance to win another title.

Los Angeles ranks 23rd in the league in points per game this season and while AD and LeBron can go for 50+ combined point per night if they are healthy and on the court, the Lakers will need someone else to step up and be a go-to scoring option for them when either of their two superstars are out of the game.

Right now, nobody has shown the ability to step up when it matters most, which is definitely a cause for concern for this franchise right now.
