Why This Is A Good Trade For Charlotte
This is a good trade for the Hornets because they are able to land a breakout player to enhance their roster. The Hornets need to find some stability to add to their center position, and the 6-foot-10 Christian Wood could be a great option for the team to take a chance on.
Wood, 25, has always showcased the tools to excel in the NBA, but he was never given an opportunity until this season with the Rockets. He is excellent at using his size and athleticism to his ability and posterizing opposing players as well as using a sweet step back to create space and nail the open shot.
This season, Wood is averaging 21.0 points per game, 9.6 total rebounds per game, and 1.7 assists per game for the Rockets while shooting 51.4 percent from the floor and 37.4 percent from beyond the three point line. Wood would be a franchise cornerstone for the Charlotte Hornets if this trade came to fruition.
Adding Wood to a core that includes LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, and Miles Bridges would be a great look for the Hornets. This is a trade they should have their eyes on.
