This Hornets-Rockets offseason trade is centered on Christian Wood

While the NBA trade deadline has since expired and rosters are seemingly set for the remainder of the 2021 season, you better believe this upcoming offseason will be just as entertaining as the NBA trade deadline was. Two teams who could be interested in making a trade together could be the Houston Rockets and the Charlotte Hornets and Christian Wood could be a player to watch in any potential trade talks.

The Hornets are in playoff contention this season and if all goes well they could be in store for a deep playoff run. The Rockets, however, are in better shape to compete for the top spot in the NBA Draft Lottery in the upcoming offseason.

Both of these teams have very talented rosters, and a trade between the two squads could make a lot of sense. The Rockets and Hornets will both be looking to beef up their rosters to stay in contention long beyond this season and an offseason trade could allow that to happen.

Houston’s Christian Wood was rumored to be dealt at the NBA Trade Deadline this season, but the fact that he was never dealt could make him a red-hot prospect for teams to pursue this offseason instead.

Let’s take a look at what a trade could look like that would team up Christian Wood with LaMelo Ball.
