Boston Celtics
While they may not be heading towards a traditional total rebuild, the Boston Celtics will have some big decisions to make roster wise in the offseason. Newly acquired Evan Fournier is going to be a free agent, the Celtics have virtually no cap space and they have had arguably the worst supporting cast and bench in the NBA this season.
Outside of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kemba Walker and Marcus Smart, there really is no other production on this Celtics roster, which is why they are farther off from being title contenders than many believe.

The Celtics have made the Eastern Conference Finals in three of the last four seasons, but did they really have a chance to win a title any of those years or were they all “flukes” that they made it that far in the playoffs?
Boston has no reliable depth on their roster, which is why they will have to do some kind of a roster rebuild this offseason. Finding ways to add talent at a small price will be essential, but they could also look for ways to free up some salary space by exploring trade opportunities for Walker and Smart.
Overall though, the Celtics have trade exceptions of $11M, $5M and $4.76M, so Boston could explore opportunities to add some reliable depth via trade with these exceptions. If this team truly wants to reach their full potential, then they will have to be willing to spend more money to get the supporting cast Tatum and Brown need.
