Houston Rockets Receive: C James Wiseman
Golden State Warriors Receive: C Christian Wood
That’s it, that’s the trade right there! Wiseman for Wood.
The Rockets and Warriors have had many showdowns in the playoffs over the years and they have been bitter rivals in the Western Conference for years now, but things are starting to change for both organizations.
For the Warriors, Curry, Thompson and Green are not getting any younger and their championship window is starting to close a little bit from where it was at from 2015-2019. For the Rockets, they have entered a complete rebuild ever since they traded both Westbrook and Harden and will be looking for ways to build for the future.

Golden State still has a little bit of room left to contend for a championship, which is why a player like Christian Wood could make more sense for them now rather than a young player like James Wiseman that will take time to develop. Wiseman may have more overall potential to grow into something special, but Wood is already something special and has been all season long.
After having to fight for a roster spot in the league, Christian Wood is now one of the premier frontcourt options in the league and has been having a stellar season with the Rockets. In 41 games with Houston, Wood is averaging 21.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and is shooting 37.4% from three-point range.
There is a lot to discuss with this trade, so now, let’s dive into how this trade affects both teams and if this move truly is the best thing for both the Rockets and Warriors to do.
