Does this trade make sense for the Charlotte Hornets?

Gordon Hayward is currently out with a foot injury and should be back for the playoffs, but before he injured his foot, he was consistently one of the best scorers on this Hornets team. He has been one of the key differences in why they have been so successful this year, so why would they look to give him up?

Getting Myles Turner would be a huge upgrade at the center position and the emergence of Miles Bridges and Jalen mcDaniels gives the Hornets two replacements at the forward position should they move Hayward, but the Hornets have built something special this year.

Moving forward, the Hornets are going to have about $28.8M in cap space entering this upcoming offseason, which gives them plenty of possibilities on how they want to add more talent to their roster.

The market for free agent frontcourt options is not good at all in this year’s upcoming free agent class, but there are other avenues for the Hornets to explore to add talent to their roster without giving up Gordon Hayward.

This trade scenario with the Pacers is definitely intriguing, but overall, giving up Gordon Hayward is not something the Hornets are likely interested in. As a result, expect them to still show interest in Myles Turner, but Hayward may be off the table in discussions.
