Every NBA season, we always get caught up with who the league MVP should be and which players deserve different types of honors, but we never seem to give credit to the head coaches and the entire coaching staff!
Maybe NBA coaches are not as “hands on” as college coaches, but there are still some great coaches in the NBA that are just as important to their teams and organizations as some of the players in this league!

Just look at Gregg Popovich for example with the San Antonio Spurs! Coach Pop has been with the Spurs organization since 1988 and has been their head coach since he took over for Bob Hill during the 1996-97 season.
Since then, Popovich has posted a 1308-644 record with the Spurs, including this year, and has coached them to 5 championships! He may have had great players in Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, but Gregg Popovich is one heck of a coach and is still one of the greatest coaches in the league today!
Head coaches are always the first to be blamed for their teams struggles, yet when the team succeeds, no spotlight is ever shined on the coach! Let’s try and change that narrative by taking a look at this year’s Top-3 candidates to win the 2020-21 Coach of the Year award!
