This team is missing that “it” factor, which Lowry has proven to be over his career
Jimmy Butler is the best pure talent on the Miami Heat’s roster and Bam Adebayo is getting better and better each year as a frontcourt talent, but when you look at the Miami Heat as a team, it is really hard to pinpoint one player and say “he is their guy.”
Sure, Jimmy Butler is probably classified as this kind of player for the Heat, but he is not the type of player that can go out there, score when it matters most and take all the big shots for them. Oftentimes, the Heat “spread the wealth” and other guys like Herro, Robinson or sometimes even Dragic try to fill this hole for them.
This philosophy has not worked all season long, which is why the Heat need Lowry to be their “it” factor. Kyle Lowry is never afraid of big moments and he has always been the guy with the ball in his hands down the stretch run of a game for the Raptors.

During their 2018-19 NBA championship run, Lowry was the Raptors second-best player next to Kawhi Leonard, yet he always stepped up in big moments and was able to hit big shots for them. Lowry can absolutely still be this kind of player and he still has that same mindset, which is why he is still extremely valuable for a 35-year-old point guard.
Kyle Lowry can be the Heat’s “it” factor on both ends of the court, which is why he is worth the investment over any other guard the Heat could pursue in NBA free agency, including Victor Oladipo.
