Miami desperately needs a true floor general at point guard
When you look at the Miami Heat’s roster, Jimmy Butler clearly sticks out as this team’s main All-Star talent, but then they have other key, high-level talents in Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson and Goran Dragic.
However, this team does not really have that true floor general and facilitator at the point guard spot that other true championship contenders have on their rosters. The Brooklyn Nets have James Harden and Kyrie Irving in their backcourt, The Phoenix Suns have Chris Paul, the Los Angeles Lakers have LeBron James, but the Miami Heat do not really have that high-level talent they need at the point guard position.
Kendrick Nunn is a growing guard that is only in his second year in the league and Goran Dragic is about to turn 35-years-old. This team desperately needs a guy like Kyle Lowry who can not only take a ton of pressure off of Jimmy Butler to make all of the plays, but Lowry can also be that high-level facilitator they desperately need.

Since joining the Raptors ahead of the 2012-13 season, Kyle Lowry has averaged 7.1 assists and has posted an assist-to-turnover ratio of about 2.7 to 1. Not only is this one of the best A/T ratios over this span, but Lowry has consistently been one of the league best point guards.
He himself is now 35-years-old and does not possess many more years in this league, but there is no reason why Lowry cannot be that second top-tier talent that the Miami Heat need next to Jimmy Butler to potentially make it back to the NBA Finals and have a chance to compete for a title.
