This year has been an absolute mess for the Boston Celtics. After entering the season with title hopes once again, the Celtics just do not have enough talent on their roster outside of Tatum, Brown and Walker to be anything special in the Eastern Conference.

Over the last few weeks, they have suffered losses to both the Chicago Bulls and the Charlotte Hornets, as well as losing the other night to the Oklahoma City Thunder, who were on a 14-game losing skid!

Nothing has gone right for the Celtics this year and while they will likely still make the playoffs, seeing them win a first-round series or even in the play-in tournament seems like a lot to ask at this point! Changes are coming roster wise in the offseason for the Boston Celtics, which is why looking at a potential trade for CJ McCollum could make a ton of sense.

McCollum would be a major upgrade at the shooting guard position offensively from Marcus Smart and for the Blazers, getting Marcus Smart is a big package for CJ McCollum could help them a lot defensively.

The Celtics need to find ways to add more high-level talent on the offensive-end of the court and given how CJ McCollum was putting up All-Star-like numbers before injuring his foot earlier in the year, he could be exactly the kind of player they need to pair with Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum moving forward.
