Does this trade make sense for the Philadelphia 76ers?

They have been reluctant to trade Matisse Thybulle in the past for guys like James Harden and Kyle Lowry, so why would the 76ers be willing to part ways with him for a bench scoring in Jordan Clarkson? Well, this move is solely based on if the 76ers get so desperate that they are willing to do anything it takes to win a championship next year, assuming that they do not do so this year.

If the Sixers lose short of the Eastern Conference Finals in the playoffs this year, then this roster could be heading for a major overhaul of talent, which is why Jordan Clarkson could be a guy they target.

Not only is he the best bench scorer in the league this year, but he is also one of the better perimeter-oriented guards in the league. 57.3% of Clarkson’s total shots have come from beyond-the-arc this season and he is shooting 34.4% on three-point attempts.

His three-point shooting percentage may not blow you away, but he is a much better shooter than his numbers may show. Not to mention, Clarkson is taking close to 9 threes per game on average.

Overall, the Philadelphia 76ers will likely remain vigilant on keeping Matisse Thybulle long-term and since Seth Curry is just as good of a perimeter threat as Jordan Clarkson, this move does not really increase the 76ers chances of winning a title.
