Does this trade make sense for the New Orleans Pelicans?
The Pelicans are going to be entertaining offers for Eric Bledsoe in the offseason and while Nickeil Alexander-Walker has emerged as a unique young talent for the Pels, getting Bogdan Bogdanovic would make this team so much better offensively.
Not only is he a better offensive talent than both Bledsoe and Alexander-Walker, but Bogdanovic is already an established, high-level player that will be more impactful than anyone the Pelicans could take with their 2021 first-round pick, which would be traded to the Hawks in this deal.
New Orleans currently ranks 27th in three-point shooting percentage on the season and they desperately need to add a high-level scoring threat from the perimeter in the offseason. Bogdanovic is shooting 41.9% from three-point range on the season, which is why he is the picture-perfect fit at the shooting guard position for the Pelicans.
Next to Trae Young in the Hawks offense, Bogdanovic is used to being a secondary-scorer and contributor offensively, which is exactly what his role would be next to Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson in New Orleans.

If the Pelicans can pull off a trade like this, not only would they be set up in a position to make the playoffs next year, but they could potentially make some noise in the Western Conference, especially if they were able to re-sign Lonzo Ball on-top of making this move for Bogdan Bogdanovic.
