New Orleans Pelicans Receive: G Bogdan Bogdanovic

Atlanta Hawks Receive: G Eric Bledsoe, G Nickeil Alexander-Walker, NOP 2021 1st Round Pick

Over the last few weeks, Bogdan Bogdanovic has been on an absolute tear and has been one of the driving forces on the Atlanta Hawks, pushing them to having one of the better records in the Eastern Conference.

Since April 1, Bogdanovic is averaging 21.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and is shooting 48.5% from three-point range. Next to Trae Young in the Hawks backcourt, he has been fantastic this season and is everything the Hawks anticipated him being when they signed him to a three-year, $54M deal in free agency.

Atlanta has been one of the hottest teams in the NBA down the stretch-run of the season, in large part thanks to the contributions they have been receiving from Bogdanovic, so it seems like a stretch that they would trade him in the offseason, but the Pelicans could offer up some interesting assets.

Eric Bledsoe is a player that the Pelicans are expected to shop around in the offseason and given the Hawks need for more backcourt talent, both Bledsoe and Nickeil Alexander-Walker could be major additions for them.

Are these guys and a first-round pick equal value to the Hawks for a player like Bogdan Bogdanovic though? Let’s take a look as to if this trade truly makes sense for both teams and whether or not this trade puts both teams in a better position to succeed moving forward.
