3 potential NBA Draft Lottery outcomes that could change the league

With the NBA regular season coming to an end in the coming weeks, it is time to start discussing the 2021 NBA Draft and more specifically, the NBA Draft Lottery! We will not know the draft order until the NBA Draft Lottery on July 29th, but the end of the season will play a huge role in determining who is picking where. 

Right now, the Houston Rockets hold the worst record in the NBA, giving them the best chance to end up with a Top-5 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, more specifically, the first overall pick in the draft, but other teams like the Pistons, Timberwolves and Magic are also in contention for the #1 overall pick.

There are also a lot of interesting scenarios that could potentially happen involving protected picks in this year’s lottery. The Rockets’ 2021 first-round pick is protected Top-4, otherwise it goes to the Thunder, Minnesota’s 2021 first-round pick is protected Top-3, otherwise it conveys over to the Golden State Warriors and the Chicago Bulls 2021 first-round pick is protected Top-4, otherwise this pick goes to the Orlando Magic. 

So much can happen at the 2021 NBA Draft Lottery this year and depending on which ping pong balls are picked, it could very well impact the NBA for many years to come.
