Ranking the 3 best fits for Houston Rockets in 2021 NBA Draft

The Houston Rockets went through a complete overhaul and it began in the offseason. The rebuild is in full swing and it could lead the Rockets to the first-overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. They are currently 15-46 and are two games worse than the Minnesota Timberwolves. It remains likely that the Rockets are at the top of the draft even if they do not get lucky with the first pick.

Houston sent Russell Westbrook to the Washington Wizards in the offseason in exchange for John Wall. They followed up that move by trading James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets in a huge blockbuster deal. Shortly after, Victor Oladipo was acquired and did not agree to a two-year contract extension.

At the NBA trade deadline, the Rockets stayed busy sending Oladipo to Miami. The new-look front office has had a busy first year and now, they have their sights set on a top pick in the 2021 NBA Draft in July.

Christian Wood has been a great addition for Houston in free agency. He is averaging 21 points in 35 games this season. Outside of his contract, there are not many long-term pieces in Houston.

This is going to be a rebuild from the ground up. PJ Tucker is now with the Milwaukee Bucks and Eric Gordon could be the next veteran sent away. When a team gets a top pick, it is important to hit on that pick so they can add the next franchise player.

This is something that the Rockets desperately need. Here are three strong fits for the Rockets in the upcoming 2021 NBA Draft.
