3 teams who should keep tabs on a Karl-Anthony Towns trade

Karl-Anthony Towns has turned into one of the best big men in the league. Since being selected with the first-overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Towns has been a generational talent with an incredible skillset. Obviously if he is available via trade, there will be plenty of teams interested. This would be the ultimate blockbuster for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the offseason.

Towns has averaged a double-double in every season since entering the league. That has continued this season. Towns is averaging 24.7 points and 10.8 rebounds in 36 games this season. Towns’ ability to stretch the floor and shoot from three-point range makes him a versatile big that fits in with today’s NBA game.

He signed a five-year, $158.3 million deal with the Timberwolves and was supposed to be in town long term. That could change as Minnesota suffers another poor year.

The Timberwolves are currently 15-43 in the Western Conference and this has them in the basement with the season winding down. It has been known all year that Minnesota was not going to make the postseason so sights have been set on the offseason.

This is where the front office could look to make some big moves. Karl-Anthony Towns is at the top of the list if they want to pull off a blockbuster. At 25 years old, Towns is an incredible piece to any team and one that can take a franchise to the next level.

This will make for an interesting topic in the offseason. If Karl-Anthony Towns is truly on the trading block, these three teams should have great interest in the big man.
