This Mavs-Pacers offseason trade is focused on Kristaps Porzingis

Not only is he one of the best defensive big men in the NBA, but he is a player with a reasonable contract to deal. Myles Turner has been at the top of the list of the league’s best defensive big men for the last several seasons and all season long, he has looked like one of the clear-cut favorites to win the Defensive Player of the Year Award.

The Indiana Pacers love what they have in their big man and have shot down trade rumors around him all season long, but at some point, there has to be some truth to some of these rumors that the Pacers have looked to trade Turner. Sure, these kinds of things pop up all the time with no background information, but NBA trade rumors involving Turner have been going on since last offseason, so something is definitely up.

Not only is Myles Turner under-utilized on the offensive-end of the court in Indiana, but he has always been overshadowed by other high-level offensive talents. Given all of their injuries and a new system this season, it was expected that Myles Turner could take the next step in his career and become a legit two-way threat, but he has been the same exact player and has not been given more opportunities to prove himself with the Pacers.

With him being owed just $52.5M over the next three years, the 24-year old center is a very affordable option for many championship caliber teams and could help any team in the league on the defensive-end of the court.

If the Mavericks decide to make Kristaps Porzingis available in trade talks, the Indiana Pacers could definitely be interested in making this trade. With that said, let’s take a look at what a Pacers-Mavericks trade involving both Kristaps Porzingis and Myles Turner could look like.
