Hamidou Diallo – Detroit Pistons
Entering the season, Hamidou Diallo was expected to see a fair amount of playing time with the Oklahoma City Thunder and early on in the year, he put together some really solid all-around performances.
A week or two before the NBA trade deadline, the Thunder decided to trade the athletic wing to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Svi Mykhailiuk and a 2027 second-round pick. Mykhailiuk has been really solid for the Thunder since getting traded there, but Diallo has seemed to be in and out of the rotation for the Pistons.
He has only played in 11 games due to a nagging injury and after seeing upwards of 25 minutes per game when he first arrived to the Pistons, Diallo has averaged about 19 minutes per game over his last few games.
As a result, he has not been able to show what he can do on the court and Diallo has struggled to carve out a role in the Pistons’ rotations. They have seemed to give more opportunities to some of their young talents in Saddiq Bey and Frank Jackson on the wing, keeping Hamidou Diallo sidelined.

This trade has definitely worked out more in favor of the Oklahoma City Thunder and with Hamidou Diallo set to become a free agent in the offseason, the Pistons may have traded a 2027 second-round pick for absolutely nothing.
