Nikola Jokic – Denver Nuggets
Losing Jamal Murray to a torn ACL is devastating news to the Nuggets chances of winning a title this season, especially since they have been playing their best basketball as a team over the last month or so, but Nikola Jokic is still the MVP front-runner at this point in the season and it seems like this is his award to lose.
All season long, the Nuggets’ center has been the best all-around player in the entire league and has been virtually impossible to stop.
Nikola Jokic is having the best season of his career, averaging 26.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 8.8 assists and shooting 56.9% from the floor and 41.9% from three-point range.
Nikola Jokic has the second most triple-doubles this season with 15 and has the most double-doubles in the league with 51. In just about 90% of the Nuggets games this year, Jokic has recorded a double-double, which is quite remarkable.

This month alone, Jokic has posted 9 double-doubles, including three triple-doubles. The whole Nuggets season lies on Nikola Jokic’s shoulders and without Jamal Murray, he will have to continue to elevate his play in order to keep the Nuggets as championship contenders in the Western Conference.
