Does this trade make sense for the Orlando Magic?
Mo Bamba’s future in Orlando is very much up-in-the-air after this season and adding Devin Vassell could definitely be an impactful move for a team looking to add more young talents. Right now, the Magic are just searching for ways to get younger and add more potential to their roster, which is exactly what they would be doing by adding Devin Vassell.
The first-year wing out of Florida State has shown the abilities to be an effective two-way small-forward, which is why he could join Orlando and immediately compete for their starting small-forward position.
He is an excellent three-point shooter, shooting upwards of 40% from deep on the season and given his small sample size of minutes, he could absolutely be an impactful, young player given 25+ minutes per game.
Overall, what this trade comes down to for the Magic is whether or not Bamba or Vassell can contribute to them long-term and the answer should be easy seeing as Bamba is entering the final year of his contract.
