Does this trade make sense for the Houston Rockets?
Absolutely! This trade makes total sense for the Houston Rockets for a couple of reasons. Not on only have they been looking to trade Eric Gordon, but he is a veteran player that has lost his role with this team. He’s going to be a name to watch in NBA trade rumors during the offseason as a result.
Gordon has been out since mid-March with a groin injury and quite honestly, he may remain out for the rest of the season. For the Rockets sake and for him personally, there is nothing to gain with Eric Gordon returning to the court, so they may mutually agree to keep him out and work on either a trade or a buyout agreement in the offseason.
While he was a key part of their championship contending teams over the last few seasons with James Harden, the Rockets are now in no shape to contend for a playoff spot, yet alone a championship, which is why Eric Gordon serves no purpose on this team anymore.
Finding him a playoff contender to go to where he can contribute and compete for a championship is likely the route they will go in the offseason, which is why the Warriors make complete sense for Gordon. He is familiar with them as a team, as he played them numerous times in the playoffs and has a relationship with many of the Warriors’ current players.

For the Rockets, Kelly Oubre Jr. could definitely be a valuable player for them and with them not having any talent whatsoever on the wing, he could immediately join this team and be a part of their young core. With John Wall, Kevin Porter Jr, Kelly Oubre Jr, Jae’Sean Tate and Christian Wood moving forward, the Rockets could definitely start building something special.
