After acquiring Gordon Hayward in NBA free agency and drafting LaMelo Ball 3rd overall this past offseason, there were a lot of questions about how the Hornets would look and they have answered all of these questions by emerging as one of the most fun and entertaining teams to watch this year.

While they are not the best offensive or defensive teams in the league, the Hornets are one of the best perimeter shooting teams in the league and have one of the best backcourts in the league. LaMelo Ball was having a fantastic rookie season before fracturing his wrist and while Terry Rozier has been fantastic all season long, he has had his name tied to a bunch of trade rumors recently. 

With LaMelo Ball and Devonte’ Graham in the Hornets backcourt, Terry Rozier is expendable and the Hornets could potentially look to capitalize on his value since it is at an all-time high. Trading Rozier for Jerami Grant definitely helps the Hornets, as they need to fix the problems in their frontcourt, but does this move really help the Pistons? 

Terry Rozier could definitely be of use to the Pistons in the backcourt, but they would probably love the idea of teaming him up with Grant instead of swapping them for one another. This is almost a backwards move by the Pistons and does not offer much in terms of more potential, which is why they would likely opt to hold off on making this kind of a deal.

However, the idea of dealing with the Hornets is definitely not off the table in the offseason for the Detroit Pistons, as they have plenty of players that the Pistons would probably love to bring in to team with Jerami Grant and their young core.
