3 underrated players set to become free agents this offseason

With the NBA regular season entering its final month of play, it is not only time to start focusing on the playoffs and the teams who will be competing for a championship, but it is time to start focusing a little bit on the offseason, specifically free agency.

While this year’s free agent class may not be that impressive in terms of overall talent and big names, there are still plenty of intriguing players that could help many different teams around the league. NBA free agency is a big part of every single NBA season and as we get closer to preparing for the 2021-22 season, free agency will once again play a major role in how next season plays out. There will be no shortage of NBA rumors to monitor as the time approaches.

Finding the “diamonds in the rough” is a tall task for all of the teams around the league, but we have seen plenty of key free agent signings over the years of players that have gone unnoticed. Most recently, two of the biggest free agent signings of this past year that did not get enough attention when they happened were Jerami Grant signing with the Pistons and Christian Wood signing with the Rockets.

Not only are both players having breakout seasons, but both guys were not really highly sought after guys in free agency last summer. Jerami Grant was known for being a tough, reliable role player, but nobody expected him to have the breakout, star-studded season like he is in Detroit. The same applies for Christian Wood, however he is a guy who had to fight just to be in the league.
