Portland Trail Blazers

While they have faced a ton of adversity with injuries this season, the Portland Trail Blazers have been one of the most slept on teams this season. They currently find themselves as the 6-seed in the Western Conference playoff picture, but no team is going to want to play the Blazers come time for the NBA playoffs because of how good of an offensive team they are.

However, this team likely will fall short of reaching the NBA Finals, bringing them back to the drawing board in the offseason on how to finally contend for a championship in the Western Conference. They will be an organization to watch in NBA trade rumors without a doubt.

Enes Kanter is set to become a free agent and Jusuf Nurkic will be in the final year of his deal, which is why the Trail Blazers could look to add one of the best and undervalued frontcourt players in the league to their roster. Myles Turner has seen his name in a ton of trade rumors over the months and in Portland, could be the final piece they need to finally be one of the teams to beat in this league.

Portland’s biggest problem as a team is their defense, which is why Turner could have a huge difference. He is not only one of the best defensive big men in the league, but he can be an anchor for this entire Trail Blazers team on the defensive-end of the court.

Not to mention, Myles Turner has the ability to be a very effective player in Portland’s system. While Nurkic and Kanter are mainly only big guys who can command the paint, Myles Turner can do that and then also step out on the perimeter and knock down a three-point shot.

In pick-and-roll sets with Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, Myles Turner could thrive in stepping out on the perimeter and being on the receiving end of a pass from either of the Trail Blazers’ two guards to knock down a perimeter shot.

With him having two years left on his deal after this season, there is not an immediate need for the Pacers to trade Myles Turner and they do not want to trade him, but if they can get a solid amount of value for him right now, they would definitely entertain the idea.

With the capability to trade guys like Jusef Nurkic, Robert Covington and some draft picks, the Portland Trail Blazers could actually put together an interesting offer for Indiana to consider involving Myles Turner.

Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum together creates one of the best backcourts in the league, but outside of these two, there is a lot unknown about the production of this team. Getting better defensively in their frontcourt with a player like Myles Turner could do wonders for the Portland Trail Blazers and ultimately push them back into the championship picture in the Western Conference.
