Why This Trade Would Benefit The New York Knicks

The New York Knicks need two things immediately — a point guard and a center. Turner would be welcomed with open arms if he is able to make his way to the Mecca. This is exactly the type of impact performer in the frontcourt that would help New York on both ends.

Turner has a blossoming offensive game, especially from three-point range but he is an elite defender already. Turner leads the league in blocks per game and can rebound on both ends. Right now, the Knicks are getting bullied down low and fans should not be sold on Robinson.

Robinson is a freak athlete but his game is extremely raw and there is a ton of work to be done. Injury concerns just give another reason why he should be moved.

Obi Toppin has not fit into Tom Thibodeau’s system during his first year. Turner would give them that toughness down low that is needed to compete.

The Knicks could pair the different skill sets of Myles Turner and Julius Randle in the frontcourt. This is something that the front office should be salivating at the thought of. This would give them an immediate boost heading into next season.
