This Cavs-Hawks offseason trade gives Cam Reddish a fresh start

Why This Trade Would Benefit The Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks thought they were getting a steal when Cam Reddish fell to them at 10 in 2019. After two years, he could be used as a trade piece and it is not exactly because of his poor play.

Reddish has struggled this season but has played just 26 games. The Hawks seem to be going in a different direction in a weak Eastern Conference. If this is the case, we could see some moves.

Atlanta added Bogdan Bogdanovic in the offseason and he is back on the floor making plays alongside Young. With his recent emergence after injury, Cam Reddish has been out in a lesser role. There are many players on the Hawks that can do what Reddish does and he might be the odd man out.

Moving forward, the Hawks have some deals that need to get done. Young and John Collins, if he stays, will need extensions. Reddish seems like an expendable option for the Hawks. The fit is just not working out to this point and we could see some moves made by the front office.

The Hawks have climbed to the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference at 30-26. They came into the year hoping to make the postseason and have been playing their best ball all year recently. The front office seems to have a plan and they will continue tor put it into action in the offseason.
