Why This Trade Would Make Sense For The Houston Rockets
This is a good trade for the Houston Rockets because they are able to land some great talent while only having to spare one player in the process. Christian Wood is good and all, but the Houston Rockets could benefit far more from landing this slew of talent and picks more than retaining Wood.
The additions of Thomas Bryant and Rui Hachimura are major to the depth of the Houston Rockets, and could have a major impact on the team as a whole. Thomas Bryant would give the Rockets a Clint Capela type of center that they have been missing and the addition of Rui Hachimura gives them a very effective post player at the power forward position.
The main focus for the Rockets would be to gradually gain draft assets as they can find value for the flourishing talents they manage to add to their roster. Christian Wood has been a sensational addition from NBA free agency but he will be 26-years-old by the start of the 2021-22 NBA season. Finding trade value for him now could be an ideal time to ‘sell-high’ on his value.

With a larger role than he’d ever have with the Washington Wizards, Rui Hachimura would be able to fill up the box score with the Rockets. He’s also not a long-term piece for a rebuilding team given the flaws he has in his skill-set. Giving him the opportunity to increase his trade value then landing an additional return could be a logical approach.
The Houston Rockets could be in great shape with this trade going through and it could be extremely exciting for Rockets fans across the world. This is a championship caliber trade for the Houston Rockets.
