Ranking top 3 landing spots for Cade Cunningham in 2021 NBA Draft

No. 1. Detroit Pistons

Hands down, the best landing spot for Cade Cunningham personally career wise would be the Detroit Pistons. Why the Pistons you ask? Well, they are a very young team that is on the rise and with Jerami Grant being this team’s only star player, Cunningham could immediately join this team and not only help them win games, but put up All-Star like numbers in the process.

The Pistons did just draft Killian Hayes 7th overall to be their point guard of the future, but if they ended up with the #1 overall pick, it would be hard to make a case for them not to draft Cunningham. He fits their system perfectly and with his length and potential to be a great defender as well as an elite-level offensive talent, Cunningham could be in the best position possible with the Pistons.

Overall, he would just be “free” in the Pistons system and could just be himself. He would not really have to mold around other stars on the team or have to try and fit his new team’s system because they would adapt around him in Detroit.

He would have an experienced, star-level player in Jerami Grant to lean on and due to his overall playmaking abilities, Cade Cunningham could take the Pistons from last place in the Eastern Conference, to being on the verge of making the playoffs next season, that is how good this kid is.

Drafting Cunningham would clog the Pistons’ backcourt, as they will have both Killian Hayes and Cory Joseph in the backcourt as well, but given his overall abilities to make everybody around him better and to improve his team offensively, Cade Cunningham would find the most success in Detroit.
