Karl-Anthony Towns – Minnesota Timberwolves

Since Towns has been in the league, the T-Wolves have gone 162-230, not including going 14-41 to this point this season. He has only been to the playoffs once and right now, it seems like Minnesota could be heading towards yet another rebuild with both Russell’s and Towns’ futures up-in-the-air based on recent NBA trade rumors.

The best thing that could happen to KAT is to be traded, and there is no better place for him to go than the Knicks. Not only could this be his team, but he went to school in Metuchen, New Jersey and grew up a Knicks fan. This would be a dream come true for Towns to play in MSG, which is why the Knicks should do everything they can to make this possible. This will certainly be something to monitor in NBA trade rumors going forward.

While he seems content with the Minnesota Timberwolves at the moment, Karl-Anthony Towns is definitely the player the Knicks should have at the top of their target list moving forward. Not only is Towns one of the better big men in the entire NBA, but he is from Metuchen, New Jersey, and grew up a Knicks fan, as mentioned before.

Karl-Anthony Towns is under contract through the 2023-24 NBA season, making a trade the only plausible way for the Knicks to get their hands on the former number one overall pick. With three first-round picks in the 2021 NBA Draft and plenty of young, intriguing young talents, the Knicks could put together quite a trade package to try and trade for Towns at some point this coming offseason.

When healthy, Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the best players in the NBA and in New York, he could really see his career take off. Not only would he finally be on a good team, but Towns would have the supporting cast around him to potentially put him in the MVP conversation. Julius Randle is a terrific all-around talent and R.J. Barrett is coming into his own as a high-level scoring talent, giving the Knicks three All-Star caliber players to contend with in the East.

There is no downside to trading for Towns other than the fact that the Knicks would be losing young talents, but Towns is just 25-years old himself. He is going to be a high-level talent for the next decade and can be one of the core players the Knicks could build with over the next several years in hopes to potentially win a championship.
