3 questions facing the Lakers ahead of stretch-run of NBA season

LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers, NBA Rumors, Anthony Davis

When will LeBron James and Anthony Davis be back?

This is the number one question pertaining to the Los Angeles Lakers right now and quite honestly, nobody really knows! LeBron James suffered a high ankle sprain on March 20th against the Atlanta Hawks and is expected to return at some point by the end of April, but right now, he is considered week-to-week based on how his body feels.

LeBron James will be back on the court sooner than later and his injury is not that much of a concern, but Anthony Davis’ injury is definitely concerning because we do not have any info as to what kind of injury he sustained or how major of an injury it was.

All the Lakers have said for months is that Davis has been dealing with a “calf strain,” but this is the same thing the Warriors said back in 2019 when Kevin Durant missed time with a mysterious calf injury. Eventually, after sitting out for weeks, Durant returned in the NBA Finals for the Warriors that year and then suffered an Achilles injury that kept him out all of the 2019-20 season.

The Lakers obviously do not want the same thing to happen to AD, which is why they are being very cautious with him, but the fact that nothing has come out about Davis and his injury is kind of concerning. Nobody knows if this injury really is nothing to be too concerned about or if the Lakers are hiding information from everyone, but nonetheless, Anthony Davis’ return to action is very much up-in-the-air at this point.
