Klay Thompson – Achilles
Klay Thompson sat out the entire 2019-20 season with a torn ACL that he suffered in the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors and during his recovery in the offseason prior to the start of this season, he injured his right Achilles tendon and was ruled out for the second consecutive year.
This was a major blow to the Golden State Warriors who definitely would have had a shot to make it back to the NBA Finals this season with Klay Thompson healthy, but injuries have been the narrative of the Warriors over the years.
Since the start of the 2018-19 season, the Warriors have dealt with DeMarcus Cousins suffering a torn quad muscle, Kevin Durant tearing his Achilles in the NBA Finals, Klay Thompson tearing his ACL in the NBA Finals, Steph Curry breaking his hand last season and missing almost the entire season, and now Klay Thompson tearing his Achilles before this season even began!

Not to mention, Marquese Chriss broke his leg early on this season, Kevon Looney has been dealing with ankle issues all season long, Eric Paschall has been dealing with a hip flexor injury for weeks and now rookie sensation James Wiseman is out for the year with a torn meniscus in his right knee.
Golden State just cannot seem to catch a break and as a result, their chances of making it back to the NBA Finals this season have gone from moderately high in the offseason to being virtually non-existent now.
Moving forward, there is still optimism within this Golden State Warriors organization that they can get back to the level of competing for championships, especially if Steph and Klay can remain healthy on the court together, but the first order of business for this team is getting everybody back and making sure everybody is healthy.
