Donovan Mitchell – Utah Jazz

Nobody seems to want to talk about the Utah Jazz, even though they hold the best record in the league, and nobody seems to want to give Donovan Mitchell the recognition he deserves. Mitchell has been the leader of the Jazz all season long and whether or not you believe this, Donovan Mitchell is a NBA superstar.

To this point in the season, Donovan Mitchell has averaged 26.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.0 steals and has shot 38.4% from three-point range. All season long, Mitchell has been one of the deadliest and most dynamic scorers in the entire league, but over the last week or so, Mitchell has really put his foot on the gas.

Since the start of April, Donovan Mitchell has averaged 32.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists and has shot 43.3% from the floor. Over his last four games, Mitchell has scored 41 points, 37 points, 42 points and just scored 42 points last night against the Washington Wizards.

What he has done to elevate this Jazz team to new heights is quite remarkable and is the reason why he deserves to be in the running for league MVP this season. He has only missed three games this year and has been a consistent threat all season long.

Oh, and not to mention, he has led the Jazz to having the best record in the league, so that should count for something! The Utah Jazz are a small-market team that does not get the recognition they deserve, which is why Donovan Mitchell has not be apart of the MVP conversation all season long, but given his recent performances and him playing the best basketball of his career, it is just a matter of time before he gets the recognition he deserves.
