This Hornets-Warriors offseason trade is focused on Gordon Hayward

Does this trade make sense for the Golden State Warriors?

This trade makes little sense for the Warriors for a couple of reasons. Not only are they paying a ton of money in luxury taxes to keep the current team that they have now, but they would have to pay even more money by making this trade with the Hornets. And to add onto this, what are they even gaining from this trade with Charlotte?

They do not receive a center in return, as P.J. Washington is more of a stretch power-forward in this league, and they trade away one of the most promising young players currently in the league. James Wiseman is only 20-years-old, yet executives and analysts around the league are already projecting him to be a multi-time All-Star during the course of his career. Why would the Warriors give up on him after just one season?

Not to mention, P.J. Washington has two years left on his contract after this season and then he is set to become a restricted free agent. Those two years, the Warriors would be getting a discount on him in terms of his value, but after that, they cannot afford to keep him and would wind up losing him for nothing.

Adding Gordon Hayward sounds good on paper, but again, what do the Warriors really gain from getting him? He is now 31-years-old, getting way overpaid in terms of what the Warriors would value him at and he does not fit their system as well as Andrew Wiggins, so why make this swap? Watch in NBA trade rumors for Golden State to make a different move, not one of this kind.

Nothing about this deal makes sense for the Warriors and the fact that we are even talking about it make it laughable. Yes, the time to win is now for Golden State with Curry, Thompson and Green not getting any younger, but they will be in a worse position as a franchise both now and in the future if they trade away Wiggins and Wiseman for Hayward and Washington.
