Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
Quite honestly, no trade scenario for Myles Turner really makes sense right now for the Pacers. Over the years, injuries have been a big reason why this team has underachieved and are the sole reason why this team is going to underachieve again this season.
T.J. Warren has basically missed the entire season, both Malcolm Brogdon and Domantas Sabonis have missed a handful of games with injuries and Caris LeVert did not make his Pacers’ debut until last month.
Hopefully moving forward, this team will be able to stay healthy and if they are, then they definitely have a top roster in the Eastern Conference. Fully healthy, their starting rotation would likely be Malcolm Brogdon, Caris LeVert, T.J. Warren, Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner with T.J. McConnell, Doug McDermott, Jeremy Lamb and Justin Holiday coming off the bench.

Aside from needing maybe another reliable frontcourt player, this is a team that is more than capable of competing at a high-level in the Eastern Conference and potentially making some noise come time for the playoffs. This will be something to monitor in NBA trade rumors.
Giving this team one more shot to prove themselves next year is the best thing the Pacers can do, especially since everybody is still under contract. There is no reason to panic and tear everything apart now, especially since the sole reason this team has failed is because of major injuries to their star players.
Jusuf Nurkic and Robert Covington could definitely give the Pacers depth and production next season, but losing a defensive star like Myles Turner could negatively affect this team. For that reason, the Pacers should hold off on making any significant trades in the offseason.
