Why This Trade Would Make Sense For The Washington Wizards
This is a great trade for the Washington Wizards because they would be able to dump the contract of Russell Westbrook on a different team while absorbing some solid talent to the squad. It’s becoming increasingly apparent that today’s NBA is shifting further away from the skill-set that Westbrook brings to the table, especially when paired with other stars.
The Wizards have a need for some rotational pieces to add to their bench depth, and they could have that in Gary Harris and Mo Bamba. Harris was recently dealt to the Orlando Magic, but he could be flipped again following the season to a team like the Wizards.
Mo Bamba would give the Wizards a center with a ton of upside, and playing alongside Bradley Beal could help Bamba reach his full potential. The Wizards could be the winners of this trade in the long haul.

Time is running out for the Wizards to build a real winner around Bradley Beal. The protection on the first round pick will help Washington to keep their pick if the outcome of the NBA Draft Lottery isn’t terrible from their perspective. Adding an intriguing draft prospect into the mix while being able to involve their other prospects more with Westbrook gone would go a long way.
The Wizard will undoubtedly be a team to monitor in NBA trade rumors regardless of what they opt to do with Russell Westbrook. Washington will surely have an attractive pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and can either use that to add an intriguing prospect, or can use it in a trade to better surround Bradley Beal with help.
