Why This Trade Would Make Sense For The Minnesota Timberwolves
This is a good trade for the Minnesota Timberwolves because they are able to get a good veteran player and a pair of picks for some players they would likely move on from anyways. The Timberwolves are entering a full team rebuild this offseason and they will likely be cutting ties with several players.
In this deal, the Timberwolves are able to retain their core of D’Angelo Russell, Karl Anthony-Towns, and Anthony Edwards, which certainly makes Kevin Love’s arrival that much more meaningful.
The Timberwolves don’t have to embark on a full rebuild if they can land the right talent, and bringing back one of the T-Wolves’ best players in franchise history in Kevin Love could be a great way to do that.

It’s common knowledge that Kevin Love isn’t as good as he once was, but he could still play some meaningful minutes for the Timberwolves. He still can provide plenty of valuable with his shooting, post scoring, and rebounding. A reunion between Kevin Love and the Timberwolves could be something to watch in NBA trade rumors in the offseason when factoring in Minnesota’s underwhelming power forward talent.
If the Timberwolves want to turn things around in a hurry, it’s going to require adding established players who have a track record of playing winning basketball. A player like Kevin Love has some flaws to his game, but the many positive intangibles he provides would help Minnesota to improve in many needed ways.
