Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Washington Wizards
At this point, the Washington Wizards should just be looking to completely clean house. They have been near the bottom of the Eastern Conference for a couple years now and there is no sign of climbing the standings. Wall was the first piece that was sent away and Washington could completely continue the rebuild with Bradley Beal.
At this point, Bradley Beal’s value is still extremely high. This means teams would have to give up a ton of assets if they want to acquire him. That is what is happening in a deal like this one. Both Rozier and Bridges are perfect role players, along with Russell Westbrook, in the lineup.
They can come in and compete right away in the rotation. The Wizards will also load up on some draft capital for the future which is important when looking to retool.

There isn’t a need to worry about how a potential return from a trade centered around Bradley Beal would fit alongside Russell Westbrook. There are a variety of key reasons for that. It starts with how winning isn’t going to be a priority in a rebuild, but also, he isn’t a long-term piece.
Beal’s loyalty to the Wizards has been incredible. He shut down NBA trade rumors and said that he did not want to get treated at the deadline. Moving forward, it might be unavoidable with the current direction the Wizards are heading.
