Eric Gordon – Houston Rockets
Eric Gordon is going to be an interesting name to watch in the offseason because he is tied down to a relatively large contract given his production and his age, but he is still a guard/wing that can contribute at a high-level.
Now 32-years-old, Gordon is in his fifth season with the Houston Rockets, but his future there is very much up-in-the-air. The Rockets have basically torn down everything they have built over the years and Eric Gordon seems to be the last player from their championship-contending teams to be moved.
He is owed $58.7M over the next three seasons, but he is exactly the kind of player the Mavericks need. What makes Gordon a good fit in Dallas is the fact that he is an experienced player and knows what it takes to win in this league, especially in the Western Conference.

Before injuring his groin this season, Gordon was averaging 17.8 points, 2.6 assists and shooting 43.3% from the floor, 32.9% from three-point range. Whether it is being a facilitator on offense or creating space for others, Eric Gordon knows his role and can still be an effective player for a championship contending team.
This is why he could potentially be a trade target for the Mavericks, but again, he is owed a lot of money over the next few seasons and they would have to invest quite a bit into him to bring him in. Not to mention, they would not have much cap space to sign or trade for anybody else in the offseason by making this move.
