Andre Drummond
The Spurs need some help in the frontcourt. Aldridge is now with the Nets and they will need some more depth down low. Andre Drummond agreed to a buyout with the Cleveland Cavaliers before signing with the Los Angeles Lakers. It is a one-year deal for little money so it will be interesting to see what happens once the season is complete. At 27 years old, Drummond has a chance to sign another long contract and the Spurs could look for that veteran help in the frontcourt.
It will be interesting to see which direction the Spurs go. They already signed a deal like this with Aldridge a few years back. Andre Drummond has shown that he is still an elite player. He is a true center and was averaging 17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game with Cleveland.
The Cavs did not buyout Andre Drummond because of a lack of production. The two sides were unable to reach an extension and this was the reason he was sent out of town. Jarrett Allen is the long-term answer at the center position and there just wasn’t a reason to keep Drummond anymore.

It will be interesting to see if the Lakers have a plan for Andre Drummond or if he gets to free agency. Drummond would be a great fit with the young guards on the perimeter in San Antonio. He could bring competition for Jakob Poeltl in the frontcourt and bring the best out of him.
This is something that he dealt with in Cleveland with Collin Sexton and Darius Garland. If the Spurs want to make another splash in the frontcourt and add that necessary depth and star power, Andre Drummond is a name to keep an eye on. It can come down to what the contract will look like.
