Why the trade benefits the Grizzlies

We have seen in the NBA that it takes multiple stars on the team to become competitive. The Memphis Grizzlies already have one in Ja Morant and could be looking to add another. The addition of Karl-Anthony Towns would balance the floor and give them another dynamic option on both ends. A player with Morant’s explosiveness with a stretch-five like Towns would be electric.

It is time for Memphis to take the next step. The postseason should be the first goal and then the team can build from there. They are already a borderline playoff team and Towns could be the player to get them over the hump. They’ve managed to get by with Jaren Jackson Jr. sidelined for all of their games this season, imagine adding him back along with Karl-Anthony Towns next season?

They would have to give up a lot to get him but went on the floor, Towns is one of the best centers in the game and fits into the style of that stretch big man. He can fill it up from deep and would act as they pick-and-roll man along with Morant. However, Towns can bully players downlow and bring new dynamics to their half-court offense as a facilitator in the mid-post and near the nail from above the break.

When looking at the Western Conference, teams are only getting better. The Grizzlies will have to keep up with the times or else they are going to fall even further behind. Karl-Anthony Towns is a prime example of a star player they should keep tabs on and make an aggressive trade offer for in the event he were to become available.
