Memphis Grizzlies Receive: Karl-Anthony Towns

Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: Kyle Anderson, Desmond Bane, Jonas Valanciunas, 2021 1st Round Pick, 2022 1st Round Pick Swap, 2023 1st Round Pick, 2025 1st Round Pick

A duo of Karl-Anthony Towns and Ja Morant would certainly excite Memphis Grizzlies’ fans right away. This would give them a perfect balance within the lineup and plenty of star power to compete in the Western Conference. The Grizzlies have loaded up on assets in recent years in hopes of one trade like this.

Jonas Valanciunas would lead the return going back to Minnesota in terms of contributing active players and he is certainly no slouch. He has taken the next step as a big In the league and can be a key player to help replace Towns’ impact for the Timberwolves. Kyle Anderson and Desmond Bane would also be going back to Minnesota.

The Timberwolves will be able to load up on some draft stock as Towns would give them three first-round picks in the future and a future pick swap. Depending on how this year’s NBA Draft Lottery plays out, Minnesota could either keep their pick if it finishes in the top-three and lose next year’s, or lose this year’s selection. Adding more draft assets would be ideal.

Let’s take a closer look and see others deal would benefit both sides right away.
